The Hair Company (THC), is half aesthetics Salon and half teaching Academy that trains sought-after graduates. The growing business was in need of a full communications makeover as well as a long-range strategy to increase awareness and engage both customers and students.
Logo treatments graphically represent how both businesses relate and ultimately benefit from each other; Academy students receive real world experience while Salon customers have a budget alternative for treatments. By using the identical font and graphic structure to both logos, but contrasting colour palettes, the two businesses are linked while at the same time, giving each a distinct character and identity.
Throughout the calendar year, THC hosts and participates in various fashion events in the city. We document our involvement and maintain a steady stream of photos and videos to our web, social media and educational sites.
PHOTOS AND VIDEO
The colour palette is carried over to the website, where users are immediately presented with both logos on the home page. Salon visitors register that there's a namesake Academy, while potential students are made aware that they'll be attending a school that's attached to a popular Salon. Simple navigation, designed fundamentally for mobile devices, allows Salon visitors to book appointments and view special promotions while Academy visitors can book a school tour or access academic information.
ADVERTISING & PROMOTIONS
Staying connected to, and growing the THC customer and student base, is our main priority. THC prides itself in listening and attending to customers aesthetic needs with organic products and attention to detail. Our design attempts to reflect this caring, sensitive approach. From window displays, gift cards, to print ads and eblasts we keep the THC customer engaged through an elegant visual dialogue that mirrors the business philosophy. Likewise with the Academy communications; student handbook to geo-fenced advertising, our visual palette is an extension of the school's values of creativity and authenticity.
